Chapter 3!

Ok. I was going to wait a few more days before posting it here, but I decided to release it today (for a variety of important and un-important reasons), so here it is-  Chapter 3!

Chapter 3 brings all new story content - focus on the story part. Work on chapter 4 has already begun, so I'm going to try very hard to avoid spoiling anything.

Quick changelog :

- Added chapter 3. More story. More stuff!

- Rebuilt file system to more easily allow updates moving forward - making it easy to provide update downloads instead of the current system, which is just that you need to re-download the entire game. As it grows in size it'll be nice to be able to download an update only, so that I made sure I'm prepared for that for chapter 4 onwards.

- Had to rebuild some of the early game (mechanical and behind the scenes stuff, no story changes) - so a full playthrough is required. If you attempt to play from a ch2 save, the game will tell you to start a new game.

- Added a quick save screen at the end of CH3. You'll now be prompted to save your game at the end of the chapter, making it easier to keep saves that can easily be migrated over to ch4 once it's released. For the CH4 release I'd like to spruce the save page up, right now it's just a solid background, but it does the job.

- Text messages now auto scroll to the bottom when receiving a new message. You can still freely scroll up/down as you'd like, but new messages will force it to the bottom (the most recent message).

- Redid a few menu colors - certain menu choices were difficult to see - they should be a bit easier now.

- Fixed a few lingering bugs from CH1. Unimportant, but they're solved now!

As said, I've already begun work on chapter 4 and I can safely say it is going to be the largest chapter yet by far - it will start to deal with some of the fallout of decisions you've made to this point, as well as a significant amount of content in the bottom half of the chapter. What else am I working on? Right now aside from chapter 4, discord! I created a discord with my chapter 2 release, but I mostly neglected it. A few people joined, a few more joined then promptly left, and overall I haven't done much with it. That's going to change soon - I plan on introducing patreon integration to discord. I won't say too much more because nothing is finalized yet, so check my patreon page for updates on this in the next week or two (https://www.patreon.com/cskingames ) - but expect to see some discord benefits associated with patreon tiers soon. (discord link: https://discord.gg/qU4MJp8wfa )

Speaking of patreon - this is something I've mentioned a couple of times over there. I've been hesitant to mention it, but it's time I pull the trigger. This game isn't cheap to make- and I've been giving it away for free. Creating chapter 4 is going to cost even more, so I'm finally at a point where there will be a price tag associated with new updates. Chapter 3, as 1 and 2, is entirely free - any donations are very much appreciated, but optional. Beginning with Chapter 4 release and onward, patreon tiers will see the first early release (As has been the case for ch2 and 3). Lower patreon tiers will recieve new chapters on release day while higher tiers will recieve early access  - and it will be sold here on itch for $7.99 on release day. The reason for this is simple - I spend a *LOT* of time creating this game(Upwards of 60 hours a week), as it is entirely a solo project, and it costs a lot of money. I'm not exactly what you'd call "rolling in it", so I do need to attempt to recoup some of the cost of producing the game in the first place. I did not feel right about charging for such a small amount of content early on, which is why 1,2 and 3 were free, but now the game has a solid start, and chapters 4 and onwards are going to be larger than the previous ones, so it's the right time for me.

Finally, if you enjoy the game, please leave a rating. More ratings = higher visibility = more downloads = more success = well, ultimately more money, which allows me to spend more time on the game, as well as purchase more of what I need to create it, which ultimately leads to higher quality and faster turnaround. Leaving a positive rating is probably the most beneficial thing you can do (for myself or any other creator) as it directly benefits us in multiple ways, allowing us to create these games with higher and higher quality. So thats my open plea - if you play a game from myself or any other creator and enjoy it, please take a minute to leave a rating, as any positive rating will not just be appreciated, but extremely helpful to the overall health and longevity of the game.

And now, back to working on chapter 4. Enjoy chapter 3!
